shan dante is an emerging multidisciplinary artist existing between boorloo/perth and naarm/melbourne. their practice evokes the dark and silly, blurring the real and surreal through acts of parody and yearning - the never-ending stage of expectation and exhaustion.

they examine the introduction and conclusion through cyclical motions of video, sound, and performativity. their discovery of the self and its true imperfections through a queer neurodiverse lens play a resounding part of their praxis, where they embrace the culturally influential and terrifyingly unknown.

shan held their first solo show at first site gallery in 2023 and has completed an honours in fine art from rmit university in 2021. outside of their practice, they work across the mental health and disability sector, and in their free time enjoys engaging in silly content from all kinds of sources.
